Der Schauspieldirektor [collection] : komische Oper in eniem Auszuge / von Stephanie ; Musik von W.A. Mozart. 1800-1916.

Arranged in six groups: I. Scores (1). II. Vocal scores (5). III. Orchestra parts (54). IV. Vocal parts (1). V. Promptbooks (12). VI. Dialogue parts (36). Production materials for "Der Schauspieldirektor" and its English adaptation "The impresario." The full score was published by Breitkopf & Härtel (Leipzig, 1865?, pl. no. W.A.M. 486, Mozart's Werke Serie 5, nr. 16, Volksausgave nr. 1308) and bears the signature of H.G. Schirmer. Vocal scores are in German, but several copies contain handwritten English translation and include editions by Breitkopf & Härtel (1871?), C.F. Peters (1888-?), and D.H. Geissler (18--?), all Leipzig firms. Orchestra parts occur as three manuscript sets, one of which probably originates from the firm of W. Löwe, one of which includes published parts for the overture, and one which is for "additional number(s) used in the Henshaw version." The manuscript vocal part, in English, is for the character Schickander. English promptbooks include nine typed copies, one of which credits Henry Edward Krehbiel with dialogue and lyrics and is copyrighted 1916, and one book handwritten on lined paper. Both German books are manuscript, one with the stamp of W. Löwe, Theater Direction, the other with the stamp of W. Kreitz and Edward Uhlig and the annotation "Bought of W. Kreitz 1876." All sets of dialogue parts consist of six parts each and include five typed sets in English and one manuscript set in German which bears Löwe's stamp.
